PRECISION GROUND TAPS
Morris Taps are manufactured complete in one chucking on a special CNC Grinder providing exceptional control of the dimensions and geometric relationship of all elements, especially pitch diameter and induced back taper, assuring you of repeat accuracy and performance each time you order.
ROUND SHANK TAPS: Our taps have plain round shanks the same diameter as the major diameter (O.D.) of the screw thread. This assures optimum concentricity and uniform heat treatment as well as clearance in the tight spaces usually found in miniature work.
SPECIAL GROUND TAPS AND PARTS: In addition to the stock items listed below we can make special order precision ground taps from high speed steel as well as other parts and lead screws from all metallic materials with threads from 40 to 400 TPI and metric pitches from .06 to 60mm on diameters from .010"-.400" (.25-10.0mm). Special flute and chamber designs, thread and overall lengths and other configurations are possible. Accuracies to .0002" or better can be held. Computer generated quotations on the quantities required are made over the telephone or by FAX from descriptions or prints. Recommendations can be made for best results if we know the material to be tapped, depth of thread, whether the hole is through or "blind" and the equipment used.

PRECISION THREAD GAGES
PRECISION GROUND THREAD PLUG GAGES: These tiny gages are made to very close accuracies on our special CNC controlled grinding equipment in an atmosphere controlled area. Special attention is given to all elements including roundness, taper, lead, angle, pitch diameter and all other dimensions. Prices include mounting in and AGD reversible style handle (usable single and end only) and carefully packaged to protect the threads. You can count on MORRIS Gages for outstanding size control and long life.
SPECIAL GROUND THREAD PLUG GAGES: Threads between 40 and 400 TPI and Metric from .06-.60mm on diameters from .010"-.400" (.25-10mm) can be made to order and computer generated quotations can be made over the telephone or by FAX from descriptions or prints for quantities specified. Truncations and "W" tolerances are available to order. The extra cost for producing reversible gages makes this design not feasible for these tiny sizes.
CALIBRATION SERVICE: This service is available at extra cost to meet strict quality control standards and includes measurement of major diameter, pitch diameter, lead and thread angle with notarized printed certification.
THREAD COMPARATORS: This precise instrument for checking external screw threads has interchangeable segments so that many different thread sizes can be checked with one base unit. The dial indicator output shows where the part is in the tolerance and rotation of the part in the hardened jaws shows up other problems that offer a guide to the procedures needed to correct any problem. They are calibrated for each session with a truncated setting plug and so provide very long service. They are made to order in all sizes in our range and will be quoted on promptly on request. Fixed limit gages are no longer available.
